This past week I got the opportunity to be an artist in The Feels Foundation 8th annual show! Alongside Cristina Martinez, Dierdre Patterson, Kiki Elice, Symonne Larison, Vy Pham, Alicia Gomez, Al-Basser Holly, Heidi Grace Acuna, Jacque Churchville, Jaymes Junio, Jessica Lipscomb, Julian Gaines, Mario Fabrizio, and Yarely Sales.
The Feels 8 Showcase is a highly anticipated annual showcase in Seattle creating space to cultivate community and nurture local creatives but it's also our largest fundraising effort to sponsor all of our arts initiatives. Art Together, a youth arts initiative; Celebrate Art/sts, a curatorial project that provides strategic support for select numbers of upcoming and emerging artists and Pieces, a multi-vendor marketplace focusing on visual, apparel and mixed media artists.
I also got the opportunity to host a private tour alongside Jessie Lipscomb (@mommalipsdraws) for Black Girls in Art Spaces (@blackgirlsinartspaces)A program providing communal care to Black women through the arts while championing Black artistry + stories.
Being selected to showcase as an artist was an absolute dream come true for me and a very affirming experience. I always dreamt to be able to meet the artists I was showing with as their careers and skill level are incredible impressive and their stories are relatable to my own. I feel so lucky to be able to continue to grow in my art career through experiences like this one! Thank you to everyone who showed love on this magical day!
